Terms of Service

Effective date: 15 October 2026

Operated by Fastiny Group (Pty) Ltd, trading as SisonkeDataDrop. Registered in South Africa, registration number 2026/799668/07.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the DataDrop app and website (the "App"), which is operated by Fastiny Group (Pty) Ltd, trading as SisonkeDataDrop ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, adding credit or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the App.

1. What the App does

The App lets you buy prepaid mobile data and share it with one person or a whole group using a secure link.

  • You add credit by making a payment through our payment provider, Ozow.
  • You create a data drop and choose the amount of data, how long the link stays open, and how many people may claim it.
  • You share the secure link in any chat or social app.
  • The recipient opens the link, enters their mobile number and claims their share. They do not need an account or the App installed.
  • The data is delivered to that mobile number through our licensed mobile network and data provisioning partners.
  • A Power Drop buys prepaid electricity for the prepaid meter number entered when the drop is claimed. The PIN is shown on the claim page and sent by SMS.
  • A Voucher Drop buys a shopping or voucher code from our voucher suppliers. The code is shown on the claim page once it is claimed.

We resell prepaid data, prepaid electricity and vouchers supplied by third parties. We are not a mobile network operator or an electricity supplier, and we do not provide cash, money transfer, stored-value or banking services. Electricity and voucher products are supplied by third parties, and their own validity periods and conditions apply once issued.

2. Who may use the App

You may use the App only if you are 18 years or older and able to enter into a binding agreement with us. If you use the App for a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for that business.

3. Your account and keeping it secure

  • Give us accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your sign-in details and your device secure, and do not share them.
  • Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is being used for fraud, abuse or a breach of these Terms.

4. Prices, credit and fees

All prices are in South African rand. The data rate per GB is shown before you buy credit and again before you confirm a drop, together with every fee that applies.

  • Credit is a prepaid balance you use inside the App. It is not money, it is not a bank or electronic money product, it earns no interest, and it cannot be transferred to another account or exchanged for cash.
  • We may change the data rate and our fees from time to time. A drop keeps the pricing that applied when it was created.
  • A flat R2 link fee applies to every drop you create, whether it is for data, electricity or a voucher. It is a processing fee for generating the secure link and it is not refundable.
  • Electricity is sold in whole rand between R55 and R1000, because municipalities only accept whole-rand amounts. The municipality takes its own service fee out of that amount before units are issued.
  • Data that is not claimed is refunded to your credit when a drop expires, less a 5% expiration handling fee. Our Refund Policy explains how this is calculated.

5. Creating a drop

  • You choose the data amount, how long the link stays open and the maximum number of claims. The full cost, including the R2 link fee, is shown before you confirm and is deducted from your credit immediately.
  • The link is protected by a secure random token. Anyone who has the link can claim, so share it only with the people you intend to receive the data.
  • Where a drop allows more than one claim, each person may claim once and receives an equal share of the data.
  • You can delete a drop at any time. Deleting a drop cancels the link immediately and erases the recipient details stored on that drop. Deleting a drop does not refund the credit you spent on it, because unclaimed value is only returned to you when a drop expires.
  • For a Power Drop you decide whether you enter the meter number or the person claiming it does. Where you enter it, the electricity is bought for that meter only.
  • For a Voucher Drop you choose the brand and the voucher value from the options we offer at that time.
  • Electricity and vouchers are bought from third parties when they are claimed. If a supplier rejects an order, that claim is refunded to your credit in full.

6. Claiming a drop

  • To claim, the recipient opens the link, enters their mobile number and confirms. One mobile number may claim the same drop only once.
  • The data is loaded onto the mobile number that was entered. Check the number before confirming, because a claim cannot be reversed once the data has been delivered.
  • Data can only be delivered to mobile numbers supported by our provisioning partners. If a number cannot receive the data, contact us and we will look into it.
  • A claim is final once the data has been delivered, and claimed data cannot be moved to a different number or refunded.
  • For a Power Drop, check the meter number carefully before claiming. Electricity cannot be moved to another meter once it has been bought.
  • For a Voucher Drop, the code is shown on the claim page once it is claimed, so share the link only with the person you intend to receive it.

7. Payments

Payments are processed securely by Ozow. We never see or store your bank account or card details. Your credit is added once Ozow confirms that your payment has been completed.

Pay with an account that you are authorised to use. We may reverse credit and suspend an account where a payment is reported as unauthorised, reversed or fraudulent.

8. Refunds and expired drops

When a drop expires, the value that was not claimed is refunded to your credit, less the R2 link fee and a 5% expiration handling fee. This applies to data, electricity and voucher drops alike. Claimed value is not refundable.

Our Refund Policy sets out the full detail, including how to ask for a refund of unused credit or of a payment that went wrong.

9. Privacy

We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how long we keep it.

10. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the App for fraud, money laundering, or with a payment method you are not authorised to use.
  • Do not enter another person’s mobile number without their consent, and do not use a drop to send unsolicited marketing.
  • Do not resell data bought through the App, and do not use automated means to create accounts, create drops or claim data.
  • Do not attempt to break, overload or bypass the App’s security, or to access data that does not belong to you.

11. Availability, and changes to the App

We work to keep the App available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may add, change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may need to take the App down for maintenance.

Data delivery depends on mobile networks and our provisioning partners, so delays or failures outside our control can happen.

12. Our responsibility to you

We provide the App with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost profit or opportunity, or for delays and failures caused by a mobile network, a bank, our payment provider or another party outside our control.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or any other law that cannot be waived.

13. Ending your account or your access

You may delete your account at any time from the App, or by following the steps on our Delete data page. Deletion is permanent: your remaining credit, drops and history are removed and cannot be restored.

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used for fraud or abuse. Where we close your account for a reason other than your breach, we will refund unused credit to the account you paid from.

14. Complaints and disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us first. We aim to respond within 2 business days and to resolve a complaint within 5 business days.

If we cannot resolve it and you are a consumer, you may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission or to the relevant industry ombud, and privacy complaints to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

15. Changes to these Terms, and governing law

We may update these Terms, for example when we add a feature or when the law changes. The updated Terms are published on this page with a new effective date, and material changes will be communicated in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
